The conditions of the previously executed master services agreement support late-stage clinical manufacturing of Rhenium-186 and Reyobiq.
April 23, 2026
By: Patrick Lavery
Plus Therapeutics is initiating manufacturing activities and technology transfer with SpectronRx, under terms of a previously executed master services agreement. As a healthcare company, Plus develops and commercializes precision diagnostics and radiopharmaceuticals to treat central nervous system (CNS) cancers.
The agreement supports late-stage clinical manufacturing of Rhenium-186 and Reyobiq. The latter of those (rhenium Re186 obisbemeda) is a novel, injectable radiotherapy delivering direct, targeted, high-dose radiation in CNS tumors. Plus says its associated radioisotope, Rhenium-186, is ideal for CNS therapeutics due to short half-life, and beta and gamma energy.
The Rhenium-186 isotope is currently supplied by Telix Pharmaceuticals. In the agreement with Plus, SpectronRx will serve as a second good manufacturing practice (GMP) manufacturing site alongside Radiomedix.
Regarding Reyobiq, presently, three clinical trials are evaluating its effectiveness against recurrent glioblastoma, leptomeningeal metastases, and pediatric brain cancer, respectively. According to Plus, Reyobiq may potentially reduce off-target risks and improve outcomes for CNS cancer patients, versus current approved therapies.
The master services agreement, as previously stated, includes a tech transfer of the Reyobiq manufacturing process. Also included in the transfer are Rhenium-186 isotope processing, analytical methods, and technical and regulatory expertise to support commercial production.
SpectronRx’s facility in Indiana will enable on-demand manufacturing of Rhenium-186 isotope production and Reyobiq drug manufacturing at a singular site.
Marc H. Hedrick, MD, President and CEO of Plus Therapeutics, said his company has a 2026 target milestone for Reyobiq. Plus would like to complete manufacturing scale-up for late-stage clinical supply needs.
“As we enter late-stage development of Reyobiq, our partnership with SpectronRx bolsters our manufacturing readiness and required expansion,” Hedrick said. “We are closely aligned with SpectronRx for best-in-class production of Reyobiq to serve the needs of the clinical community.”
Over time, Hedrick said, Plus hopes to drive growth in its radiotherapeutic business overall.
